Saudi Female EFL Undergraduates’ Knowledge, Perceptions, Problems, and Suggestions for Research Method Courses

This study aimed to analyze English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students’ knowledge and perceptions of research method courses in the Department Literature, at Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU). It also investigated problems that students encounter offered some suggestions for improving these courses. The significance is such topic has never been before context. participants were 1,022 (Levels three, four, five, six seven) who voluntarily filled out questionnaire consisting sections on four factors/themes: knowledge, perceptions, problems, suggestions. collected data analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics software compare answers, one-way analysis variance test was used detect differences between academic levels regarding each theme. results showed regardless levels, all them agreed studying therefore knowing basic components; however, elements constituting components, significant found five groups. indicated have positive even though they encountered research-related or components their specific elements; writing them; citing, summarizing, paraphrasing sources; allocating primary secondary resources; collecting analyzing data; consulting manuals. Finally, it would be helpful if assigned individual supervisors coauthored an article with them, course taught bachelor’s degree, club established, seminars held.
